Kangana recently shared a video stating that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has stalled the censor certificate amid threats and demanding major cuts.
The film stars Ranaut as the former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi along with Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman, and Satish Kaushik in important political figures from the past.
Emergency has been in the news for controversial reasons as the film has been accused of defaming the Sikh community which also lead to the call for a ban on the film.
Produced by Manikarnika Films and Zee Studios, the movie is based on the true events of The Emergency in India, a 21-month period from 1975 to 1977 when Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had declared a state of emergency across the country.
Will te makers agree to the cuts demanded by the CBFC or will they go to court, only time will tell but for now the film is not releasing this weekend.
